Network Connection Error: Permission denied: no further information

I have been using FileBot for a long time, and it's been great, but now I am getting network errors, and can't match.

I have tried to install the latest version, that didn't help; tried to uninstall and then install the latest version, that also didn't help, keep getting network errors.

I have been using CloudFlare as my main DNS server for a long time, have Cisco/OpenDNS as secondary, and Google as 3rd. No issues with other sites or services.

I have allowed all 3x filebot .exe files in windows firewall for both outbound and inbound connections.

The error log seems to point at Java, which I don't think was ever installed .. if I have to install, which version?

Are you using a VPN? Have you tried VPN / no VPN / mobile hotspot to see what happens with a different internet connection?

No VPN in use, and only changes between working/not were made in Windows Firewall -- and since those changes, I've made allowances for all 3x FileBot .exe files.

Looks like you can't call any scripts without internet access. You could however manually write the configuration file to try the java.net.preferIPv4Stack system property to see if it makes a difference or not:

If you have already confirmed that Windows Firewall is the culprit, then you can also try turning it off, at least temporarily when running a script that requires internet access on first call.



You can manually write the %APPDATA%/FileBot/system.properties configuration file and just manually do what properties script would normally do for you:

Turned off Windows Firewall, and was able to fetch data

Will try to edit things & see if works w/ Windows Firewall on, and if not, at least I can temporarily disable, run FileBot, and then turn back on

The custom configuration file is optional. It does not exist by default. The above mentioned ways of setting system properties create the system.properties file. Creating the custom configuration file is what filebot -script fn:properties --def java.net.preferIPv4Stack=true does.
