My output folder is labeled a file on Synology

I have been running Filebot node for years and have a paid lifelong subscription. I have recently noticed that my Unsorted folder was 1.4gb so clicked on it and found that text editor was opening then giving me an error that it was larger than the 10mb allowed. When I went back and checked it is showing as a file not a folder! I have a screenshot just can't work out how to add it, sorry.
My format is

Format: Select all

/volume1/video/Unsorted/{n}

What does the log file say when files are processed into your Unsorted folder? If that file path is somehow an existing file, and not a folder, then processing Unsorted files will almost certainly fail with an error message of some kind.

OK, finally got everything together (I hope). After running FIlebot node with unsorted files. It recreated the file so I deleted the file and I created a folder named Unsorted (Same naming scheme as in filebot node instructions). then I ran filebot node and the log is below:-

After the file is run it shows as Unsorted as a file again. ?

This is the script I am using in case there is an error in that I missed.
I have been using it for years, but rarely d/load music or get unsorted files apparently.

I see. We are talking about *.mp3 files without ID3 tags.

You'll want to use {fn} file name to always give you the file name:

Format: Select all

/volume1/video/Unsorted/{fn}

{n} can have different meanings, movie name, series name, artist name, file name. In this case, {n} seems to be the artist name, which is undefined, which results in your custom format inadvertently yielding /volume1/video/Unsorted as target file path.

I recommend not using a custom Unsorted format. The default works best and is well-tested.




EDIT:

In the context of --def unsortedFormat all meta object bindings including {n} are always undefined, as there is no match. /volume1/video/Unsorted/{n} never works. You're just writing the "unsortable files" to the same file path (there can only be one) and --conflict auto and made sure that the largest "unsortable file" got the spot. The large file was probably some large movie file.

e.g. generate the Unsorted file path you want:

/volume1/video/Unsorted/{fn}.{ext}
