I have been using filebot since I believe some time late 2024. I never purchased a license and I was able to load files and search TVDB database to rename in batches.

Which version of FileBot are you using? How did you install FileBot? Where did you download FileBot from? What does the log say? Please read How to Request Help.

I downloaded that and installed and now it seems you can't use it at all without a license? Is that correct?

FileBot is paid software since 2018. Previous versions relied on voluntary donations. There has not been a donation-supported version of FileBot the better part of a decade at this point in time.
