Too long file path - Windows problem

Post by xxSlayeRxx »

It is not problem of FileBot

I know that FileBot can rename file path longer than 260 chars, but when it does, how can I open this file.

You know limitation of windows file path, so maybe you know answer.

I have this file:

Code: Select all

\\xxslayerxx-komp\X\Anime\Nazwane\Mondaiji-Tachi Ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu Yo! (Problem Children Are Coming From Another World, Aren't They!) (2013)\Mondaiji-Tachi Ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu Yo! - 09 - It Seems That The Smell Of Death That Brings About Disaster Is Growing Throughout The Town! [720p x264 AAC 2ch].mp4
i want to stay with this naming scheme, but propably i cant, can i?

Hi Slaye,

I would like to suggest that you use Long Path Tool. I too faced a similar problem some time back with one of my document file. The Long path Tool solved my problem.

Players like VLC should be fine with that, but I suppose if it's a long path you can't open files with Double-Click from Explorer. That would be reason enough to switch to a shorter naming scheme.
