Arch Linux Filebot: How to fix missing UI text elements.

Post by Archfilebot » 13 May 2020, 08:58

If you are an Arch or Arch-based user (such as Manjaro) there seems to be an issue with the xf86-video-intel package, which causes the popup menus in filebot (installed from AUR) to not display text correctly. This can be seen below:

As far as I can tell so far, the solution is to simply uninstall the xf86-video-intel package, as long as you have reasonably modern hardware and have confirmed that mesa or other such video drivers are suitable and stable on your system. I am currently looking into why this occurs, but for now the solution is to remove the aforementioned package. The picture below is after removing it:

xf86-video-intel removed, text comes back after reboot - thanks.
