no, dont know that Person:
since ages; i know anidb movie selection did work strangely if at all;

Most of the times, if you gave the file the Explicit anidb title, it sometimes did!

but, i had to look up the anidb Id, Feed that into the Episode seach of anid and Mouse drag it over to the filename Tab... ;)

I haven't done that in a while but it doesn't work anymore, i can be That it worked with an older relese stand

instead there is a short "type movie ignored" info
and instead of the title you get a link With the id THAT links to the anidb site that you were looking for

Example "Macross Plus Movie Edition"
https://anidb.net/anime/3392

So i feed 3392 Into my Filebot "episodes search"
=> instead of a link to that movie i can drag over there a little anidb logo with the number and that is a link to the site above

;) i hole that makes it clear

I think i might have used something that was fixed?

Yes, if you enter the ID manually, then older versions of FileBot would just fetch that "series" and work with the "episode information" received, but newer versions will now check if the "series" at hand is actually a series and fail if not, for consistency:
rednoah wrote: 01 Apr 2024, 23:48 Movie type Anime were never supported via search, i.e. search-by-name would never find them. The ID lookup worked unofficially because FileBot just used to use the given ID as-is to fetch the series information / episode list without any additional checks, like with any other AniDB series. That works because movies / series are the same on AniDB. An AniDB movie - for all accounts and purposes - is just another series that happens to have only a single 01 episode.

However, newer versions of FileBot do check, and reject such episode listings when the series is a Movie type. Because some AniDB movies (that are not yet so tagged) do occasionally make it into the search index and that can lead to mismatches.

is there an option like a switch to have the id look up back?
alternatively ; do you happen to know which version started checking?

 You can disable sanity checks by running the following filebot command on the command-line to generate the configuration file:
rednoah wrote: 01 Apr 2024, 23:48  You can disable this restriction like so:

Shell: Select all

filebot -script fn:properties --def net.filebot.AniDB.movie=true
