Hi is Filebot still an active project

Hi,
I have bee using Filebot opensource version 4.7.9 for a while. It is a pretty good software and one of the best in the media renaming field.
I just want to purchase it as the old version feel ageing now. Filebot can't recognize the movies and rename when it has dots in the name. It is bit annoying. It used to work earlier.
I'm using PLEX and always do manual file renaming. I do not use any automation tools like Radarr, Sonarr, Lidarr and Bazarr.
Before purchase it I just need to know is this project still ACTIVE?
It looks like FileBot 5.0.3 has been released more than one and half year ago?
Thank you.

What makes you think that FileBot 5.0.3 is the latest release? The the front page says 5.1.5 at this point in time.

Looks pretty active to me:

You can
(and should) evaluate FileBot before purchase. This allows you to install the latest version of FileBot, launch it, confirm that everything works as expected.

Dear rednoah,
Thank you for your reply and confirming this project is still active. I'm sorry I got that version number from your release notes but some how I missed the version5.1.5. I will order today.
Thank you for your support.

I purchased it today. I had few bugs in the Filebot 4.7.9. So instead of upgrade the existing Filebot, I uninstalled it with Windows Add/Remove programs and installed the Filebot 5.1.5. I activated it successfully. It looks like it preserved everything like presets and rename history. Is it normal?
Thank you for the great software.

AFAIK, FileBot 4.7.9 has been completely broken for years. It's from 2017 after all.

FileBot does preserve settings and user data across version updates, as it should.

Thank you for your reply. Yes I agree with you. I just used it to do basic file renaming tasks. It worked fine until it stops renaming when file name has dots. It used to crash unexpectedly and lost my whole presets randomly. Apart from those issues it worked for me.
Thank you for your confirmation that I should preserve setting even after uninstall it.
I just need to know, is it possible to automate tasks with Elgato stream deck
https://www.elgato.com/uk/en/s/welcome-to-stream-deck. I couldn't find any profiles or plugins in their market place
https://marketplace.elgato.com/stream-deck/plugins https://marketplace.elgato.com/stream-deck/profiles
It would be very handy if you officially supports it.
Thank you.

You can probably configure the Stream Deck to show buttons for the various
Keyboard Shortcuts when FileBot is in focus. Alternatively, the Steam Deck can presumably be configured with buttons that just run predefined
filebot commands in a
*.bat or
*.ps1 script.

Thank you for your reply. I will try it.
Is there anyway to run Filebot commands when it is not in focus. I mean not even it is open. I installed it with setup. It is not a portable version.
Is there anyway to minimize to notification center instead of task bar?
Thank you

filebot is a
command-line tool. It will run when called and exit when finished. It does not need to run in the background to be called. If you're not familiar with the command-line already then this level of automation may have a bit of a learning curve.

Thank you for your reply. Thank you for pointing out the Filebot command line tool. I haven't tried it earlier. Sure I will give a try. I think it will suit my needs with Elgato streamdeck.
Is there anyway to change meta data with GUI and command line tools. Please send me the link if it is possible.
Thank you

You mean
embedded tags for
mkv and
mp4 files? Maybe
Write Embedded Tags does what you mean to do.
