[TMDB/Movie] Which poster is downloaded from TMDB

Post by toddke »

I'm using FileBot to download posters from TMDB, however it seems to be downloading non-primary posters.

Console Output: Select all

$ filebot -script fn:artwork.tmdb "Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)"
/storage/Meet Me in St. Louis (1944) => Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)
Generate Movie NFO: Meet Me in St. Louis [909]
Fetching /storage/Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)/poster.jpg => [posters/1983x2975, en, 603949.0, https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/lP8cPv0S1tbRhKDoLe0W5PW3y6h.jpg]
Fetching /storage/Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)/fanart.jpg => [backdrops/2804x1578, 63644.0, https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/fQ93o3wVSIe0dXMLTVTBHoqWwew.jpg]

Looking at all of the TMDB posters for the movie, the downloaded poster is not the primary poster; it should be https://image.tmdb.org/t/p/original/ekV ... yYcNbq.jpg.

Is there a way to force FileBot to only download the "primary poster"? I'm looking for posters that have minimal text [ie. no credits, etc...] and, according to TMDB policy, that's what the "primary poster" should be.

Assuming that your files have been processed with FileBot and thus have xattr metadata, the Fetch cover images post-processing feature should do the job:

Shell: Select all

filebot -find /path/to/input --apply cover

:idea: The artwork script will simply fetch the highest-rated entry for each artwork type.

Cool! Thanks @rednoah!

Looks like there's a difference between downloading posters from fn:artwork.tmdb and `--apply cover`. In the former case, folder.jpg was created, but it was the same artwork as poster.jpg. I'll use `--apply cover` from now on.
