FileBot

Hi,

I purchased FileBot from the Mac App Store back in 2018. I'd like to request a complimentary license for the non-sandboxed version so I can use the CLI to manage files on my Synology NAS (the MAS sandboxed version cannot access SMB network shares).

Mac App Store sandboxing notably does allow access to network shares, assuming that you have mounted them via Finder Connect to Server... or any other standard way. If you are manually mounting network shares (e.g. /mnt) then all bets are off and the sandbox may very well block all File I/O request to non-standard root folders.

That said, while sandboxing typically isn't an issue in regards to accessing network shares for the FileBot Desktop application, the Mac App Store edition of FileBot does not include the filebot command-line tool, since command-line tools are generally not supported by the App Store.
