Use 7z executable for archive extraction

Post by rednoah » 18 Oct 2018, 02:13

By default, FileBot uses either 7-Zip-JBinding native code (on x86 platforms) or Apache VFS2 with junrar plugin (on ARM platforms) platform-independent code for archive extraction. Newer archive formats such as RAR5 may not be supported well by these libraries. If you have issues with archive extraction, then using the latest 7z command-line tool (with unrar plugin) instead might solve the issue.

 Set the net.filebot.Archive.extractor Java Property to SevenZipExecutable. Make sure that the 7z executable is in the $PATH.

e.g. on Mac / Linux, set FILEBOT_OPTS before the filebot call:

Code: Select all

export FILEBOT_OPTS="-Dnet.filebot.Archive.extractor=SevenZipExecutable"

e.g. on Windows, set FILEBOT_OPTS once via CMD or the Environment Variables dialog:

Code: Select all

setx FILEBOT_OPTS "-Dnet.filebot.Archive.extractor=SevenZipExecutable"
