External drives not appearing on Mac gui? (noobie)

First off, apologies in advance if this isn't in the right place, or has been answered already. I looked around the forums and watched the video tutorial to no avail.

Actually in the video tutorial he is using windows and i can see on his screen in the first few seconds that his external drives are showing up as potential places to load files from.

For some reason for the life of me I can't understand how to do this with filebot on mac.

Its just not letting me see / open anything from the pull down menu besides local HD stuff.
