Mac (Yosemite) AppStore version

Post by PainGasm »

Been a Filebot user for quite some time now and today after repeatedly getting the update notification decided to make the purchase. :D

I'm grabbing a list of files and dropping them into the original files section, like I've always done.
This time when I select match / episode mode, a box pops up asking me to unlock a folder. This is new to me, I drug the Desktop folder to the box and move on.
Back to Match / episode mode and nothing happens. List of shows in the original files side all light grey, select match and nadda...

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong but my gut tells me I am.
Clicking to rename just gives me the "Nothing to rename" banner.

Is this a general issue or does it just happen with this specific set of files?

brew and App Store package are completely different. Which one are you running? If it's asking for permissions it's probably the App Store version. You may want to update the brew version. See my the brew tutorial for details.

Your screenshot is tiny. I can't see anything.

The App Store version of v4.5.3 is working fine as far as I can tell.

Are you renaming files from the "Desktop" folder of another user?

Is there any reason FileBot would ignore these files? Too small? "Trailer" files? Odd file extensions?

 Full paths to some of the files that don't work would help. ;)

A: Looks to be this specific set of files.

A: I was using the App Store version at that time. I will look into upgrading the brew version.

A: Sorry about the tiny Screen shot.

A: Yes, working for everything thing else I've thrown at it.

A: Yes, renaming from Desktop, same user account.

A: Is there a reason...? That's why I'm asking you. My theory, the files are pretty damn close to what they would be after renaming. The source simply has an extra "-" separating the series name and the episode number.

A: fullpath: /Users/<name>/Desktop/Trailer\ Park\ Boys

Truthfully thank you for the response, I am able to live with the files not matching my exact naming convention, plex picks them up without issue. :D I can manage a few manual jobs every once in a while.
Mostly I was just curious why the app appeared to not even try looking up the episodes.

If you have any interest in digging deeper, I am open to suggestions and can provide bigger screen shots in the future.

"Trailer" and "Sample" are keywords that might cause the file to be excluded from auto-matching. But it depends on where exactly the word "trailer" appears in the filename.

@see viewtopic.php?f=3&t=360

The file being excluded from auto-matching doesn't mean you can't rename it automatically. Just takes a tiny little bit more effort.

See manual matching:
