Change Sample: Supposed to change it on label too?

Post by J. Scott Elblein »

In the orange rectangle, is "avatar" supposed to change to the file name that is chosen after pressign the "Change Sample" button and selecting another file?

For example, when I do so, and choose a file named say, "Men in Black II - some OTHER [stuff] (here).mp4", the label showing Avatar doesn't switch to Men in Black II, it stays as Avatar, but changes anything else I have in the format code.

Reason I ask is because I'm trying to select files that have roman numerals in them, so I can work on some roman numeral syntax, but choosing any file with roman numerals in them doesn't show up with the roman numerals, since "avatar" is staying there.

Avatar is the Movie. NOT the File.

{n} is based on the Movie/Episode info. {fn} is based on the File.

When you click Change Sample it'll allow you to select a File. You will not able able to set the Movie/Episode information (unless the File is xattr tagged, i.e. renamed with FileBot before, in which case selecting a file does change the metadata sample as well).

BTW I'd just double-click the New Name entry so you can edit your format while working with real data:
