Sometimes FileBot just doesn't start after torrent finishes

Post by musigny »

When it works, it works perfectly, but sometimes FB just doesn't start at the end of a torrent file... is this a path issue? i haven't restarted my PC or done anything different since the last time it worked....

thanks in advance.

here's my script:

filebot -script fn:amc --output "C:\Users\ybars_000\Videos" --log-file C:\Users\ybars_000\Desktop\log.txt --action hardlink --conflict override -non-strict --def music=n subtitles=en artwork=y "ut_label=%L" "ut_state=%S" "ut_title=%N" "ut_kind=%K" "ut_file=%F" "ut_dir=%D"

update: changed to this:

"C:/Program Files/Filebot/filebot.exe" -version fn:amc --output "C:\Users\ybars_000\Videos" --log-file C:\Users\ybars_000\Desktop\log.txt --action hardlink --conflict override -non-strict --def music=n subtitles=en artwork=y "ut_label=%L" "ut_state=%S" "ut_title=%N" "ut_kind=%K" "ut_file=%F" "ut_dir=%D"

now filebot opens after the torrent, but doesn't run a script or do anything. it opens and quickly closes.

any ideas?

1.
Please read the Troubleshooting section. Check all the commands that utorrent has executed, and especially check what command was executed for cases where "nothing" happened. Then re-run these commands in CMD and see what happens.

2.
Calling filebot -version is most certainly not gonna do anything. I usually ask for donations when pointing out the obvious. :P

so i deleted the last script and replaced it with my original script and it's working now.... so what does that mean? is that a path issue? if so, what command should be written to go directly to the path.

i apologize for the version thing - i just copied that from the setup post you wrote.

I haven't seen any logs yet, hence I have no idea what may or may not have happened. :D

No major issue in that log. Looks like it's working just fine.

Well, in this case things worked fine. If you find a case where things don't work, then the logs get interesting.

So let's assume something didn't work:

* Check your log.txt file and see what happened. The logs will tell you exactly what files it was processing, and what happened to them.

Assuming that for some reason FileBot was really not called:

* Check uTorrent Logger tab for the call that should have been made but wasn't. Then copy & paste that call into CMD and see what happens.

If uTorrent should have called FileBot but didn't, then it's a uTorrent issue and there's nothing FileBot can do about it. ;)

This is NOT part of the command:

Code: Select all

[2015-10-12 00:35:54] Executing:
This is the command:

Code: Select all

filebot -script fn:amc ...
If you have PATH issues, try replacing filebot with the absolute path, as described in the amc manual:

Code: Select all

"C:/Program Files/FileBot/filebot.exe"
