I want to rename my entire renamed library.

Post by dwilli15 »

Hi ALL!
I'm a newby and don't quite get console mode but i think the answer may lie there. Anyway, I love filebot and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I have used it to rename and organize over 900 movies. In the process I organized them by genre into folders. I decided that there were too many genres and that it would be better for all the movies to be in one directory but with the genres in the filename. SO I put the folder into the gui for a preset, or even to match, and it is not recognizing the files. I have to manually enter or acknowledge all of the files and this takes a very long time. I committed to doing it, and the right hand window showing the new scrapes looked great. But when I clicked rename, it failed to do anything. It went to the authenticate corrections window, ie dashes and such, then the windows dialogue copy window, and it started at 0% and immediately dissapeared!

All of the video names are accurate, why does it need to re-confirm from me? I notice in the explorer shell, when i do rename, it auto detects from context. All I want to do is add the genres to each filename. There has to be an easy way that's i'm missing.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
D

I got it..... In GUI in my preset, or elsewhere, I changed the match mode from opportunistic to strict. This fixed the problem I was having, which was needing to manually confirm each scrape title.

1.
For future reference, if it's not working for certain files, I will always need file paths and/or screenshots:

2.
As for Strict Mode, that means that FileBot will only match files that can be reliably identified without user-interaction, and everything else will be ignored.
