F2 to rename conflict filename not working

Post by appyface »

(My apologies if this has already been reported. I did try searching the forums first, but couldn't come up with good search terms - F2 is too short and isn't accepted, and words like "filename", "rename", "conflict", etc. appear everywhere...)

I stumbled across pressing F2 and getting a rename dialog some time ago, but it hasn't ever worked for me. F2 is possible on a conflcting filename left behind in the GUI by the rename process:

It doesn't matter what I type into the rename dialog, the resulting rename is the conflict filename minus the last 'chunk'.

Can this be fixed, to rename to what is typed into the rename box?

And, if it is easy to make F2 rename available on either 'side' (original or renamed filename) and at any stage of the rename process (after loading, after matching, after renaming), that's obviously not essential but would be really nice to have.

Thank you for your consideration.

Kind regards.

I see. It assumes the last part is the file extension.

Fixed with r4005.
