PortableApps.com Version of FileBot

Post by robojerk »

I made a PortableApps.com format of the jar file.. So far it seems to work perfectly from what I can tell.

It works using a locally installed Java or using JPortable for PortableApps (like on a thumb drive, network share, dropbox, etc).

Note that for 4.1 the system properties have changed a bit:

I created a 4.1 RC 3 package. I saw that the app was looking for fpcalc.exe, but it's not included in your zip file.. I snagged a copy off of http://acoustid.org/chromaprint and included it.. I think most of the usage from a PortableApps.com version would mostly be using the GUI so if it wasn't include it may not be an issue..

The portable package doesn't include any of the platform independent components (fpcalc, mediainfo, 7zip) and thus some optional features won't work (acoustid lookup, mediainfo lookup, archive extract).

JPortable has finally been update to version 8 which allows a Filebot 4.5.x to run on a system without Java installed locally.
FileBot 4.5.3 is now available in a Portable Apps Format.

In case anyone wants a PAF version of FileBot 4.7, here it is..
http://portableapps.com/node/41500

includes MediaInfo, fpcalc 7-zip libs, etc.. Inside is also an updater script "update-filebot-test.cmd" to get the latest JAR file at any time.
