Feature Request/fix: TheMovieDB TV order aka Episode Groups

I believe "DVD Order" do not work on TheMovieDB TV in Filebot atm ?
but now it can plus more

The gist of this feature is that I created a way to be able to build custom groups of episodes that don’t need to match the standard season model and original air date orders. These groups can be assigned 7 different types: original air date, absolute, DVD, digital, story arc, production and TV and they can also belong to a TV network for better organization.

Non-Default Order is pretty much only supported for TheTVDB. It seems TheMovieDB as add new features akin to what TheTVDB does nowadays. I'll look into that.

TheTVDB episode orders have always been supported. This thread is specifically about TheMovieDB and their custom episode groups, on which there's no progress at this point.

Was wondering if could request this but then saw it had been . I guess not enough interest or something as 3 yrs later and nothing. Be good to use those episode orders for some of the shows that listed differently to aired etc.

Can you post the file names you have? Are you organising files for yourself or Plex / Kodi / Jellyfin? Are you using TheTVDB or TheMovieDB?


Which TheMovieDB/TV episode group type do you need for your files?


Would the Production Order work for the use case at hand?


The problem with custom episode groups is that they're different for each series. So you wouldn't be able to pre-select your preferred order since you likely prefer different orders for different shows, and so that's either complicated pre-configuration, where you don't know the possible options yet, or require a UI prompt and selection at runtime. The latter would be possible but annoying in the GUI, but not feasible in unattended automation at all. If you're organising files for Plex / Kodi / Jellyfin then naming files with custom orders won't be a good user experience either, because they will of course assume that your S01E01 numbers are the standard order.
