Location of Preferences and Settings

Post by stephen147 »

I'd like to do a backup of the programs binding syntax that I have used before.

Same as those in the format UI window.

I recommend using copy & paste and storing your format here in the forums for everyone to see and learn from.

You can import / export all Java Preferences with these commands: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=4205

Thanks, I was hoping for something that could be done after the fact without running any cmd command.

My PC OS recently failed and was left without a backup of this apps settings. I thought they'd be stored in the user AppData folder. No worries I'll be sure to back them up to a text file.

But to stop me from having to write them again I've updated my bindings in the How about sharing our format expressions? post here (I've added one to rename movies and subtitle files in one go):
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2&p=16614#p16614

Plus updated this one to show how to trimleft by 3
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2965&p=23885#p23885

On Windows the prefs are stored in the registry, so you might be able to recover them somehow. Google will help.

I hate touching the reg.. I'm better of leaving it. I have those updated posts with my improved code to fall back on now.

Thanks.
