Filebot deleting files instead of renaming

Post by tjw572 »

I just purchased a license to Filebot. Instead of renaming files, the program is deleting them. What is the point of the program if it doesn't even work and forces me to redo everything?!?!?!?!

FileBot does not delete files. There is no such functionality (in the Desktop application) so you cannot even delete files by accident. If you think that files were deleted, then there's probably more to the story, something must make you think that files do not appear where they are supposed to appear. We can help you look into that.

I wanted to mention that Filebot deleted two episodes while I was renaming a season.
I think the software couldn't swap the names of the 2 episodes during the renaming process and just erased them in error.
I was able to obtain new copies of the files that were deleted. However, it is peculiar that this happened. I hope it won't happen again.

(we need file paths at the very least to try to reproduce the issue, your custom format would be helpful as well, other context like file systems involved too, etc; whatever is happening to you is not happening for anyone else; so we need more information to narrow down on what is going on)
