<Load> files and <Fetch Data> error

Post by SteveBN »

Guys, need your help. I'm new to FileBot but I'm struggling to get the most basic task done which is creating a new folder for every .mp4 file (no series, no TV show, random sports stuff grabbed from YT) while also moving the .mp4 file and the -poster.jpg file into the newly created folder. The goal is to use Jellyfin and keeping the File structure for Windows as organised as possible.

So I used everything like in "Example 9: File to Folder"

Format: Select all

{folder}/{fn}/{fn}
but nothing happens. But I always get the "No match to rename. Please <Load> files and <Fetch Data> first." error.

Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Thanks in advance

:?: Did you load files into Original Files? Did you click on your preset to fill in the New Names? Screenshot?

:idea: This message suggests that either Original Files or New Names is empty when you click on the Rename button, and thus there is nothing to rename:

Code: Select all

No match to rename. Please <Load> files and <Fetch Data> first.

Thank you for your help. Yes now I figured out the part with how to create a new folder. It finally worked! Thank you. But is there a way to move the files into the new folder automatically and same for the Jellyfin preview image [imagename -poster.jpg]?

Thanks again for your help!

:?: Alright, how did you solve the problem at hand in the end?

:?: Yes, your custom format can generate any target file path for any source file path. If you need help that is specific to your use case, then please read How to Request Help.
