[Feature Request - SOLVED] Move "Leftover" folders

Post by devlish »

Hey, just bought a year's access after one use, you've created a damn good product and I'll probably go lifetime after the year's up.

I notice that after renaming, empty folders are deleted as desired, but orphan files (conflicting or left over) are left in their old folders, meaning they have to be cleaned up manually. Sometimes I'd like to delete these, sometimes there's useful files like unmatched subtitle files or extras.

Is there/can there be an option to move these old folders into another subfolder or location?

E.g. Original:

/Movies/Cocaine Bear [Whatever from where]\Cocaine Bear.mp4
/Movies/Cocaine Bear [Whatever from where]\[Some Leftover file].txt
/Movies/Cruella [Tag tag tag]\Cruella 1080p.mp4
/Movies/Cruella [Tag tag tag]\[Some Leftover file].txt

Becomes:

/Movies/Cocaine Bear (2023)\Cocaine Bear (2023).mp4
/Movies/Cocaine Bear [Whatever from where]\Cocaine Bear [Leftover file].txt
/Movies/Cruella (2021)\Cruella (2021).mp4
/Movies/Cruella [Tag tag tag]\[Some Leftover file].txt

Whereas I'd like:

/Movies/Cocaine Bear (2023)\Cocaine Bear (2023).mp4
/LEFTOVERFOLDER/Cocaine Bear [Whatever from where]\Cocaine Bear [Leftover file].txt
/Movies/Cruella (2021)\Cruella (2021).mp4
/LEFTOVERFOLDER/Cruella [Tag tag tag]\[Some Leftover file].txt

Possible/Already implemented? Did a quick search before posting but maybe used the wrong wording.

 Please enable the Import companion files post-processing feature and see if that works:

** see Companion Files › Type 2 Companion Files for details

 If you want to delete or move leftover files to a dedicated trash folder, or anything else really, then you can add a Custom Post-Processing Script (e.g. Delete clutter files) to your process. We can help you write copy & paste code for that.

Thanks, worked great, few stragglers not worth scripting for, just cleaned manually.

Perhaps this feature should be made more prominent or turned on by default?

This argument could be made for any of the post-processing features... I'm unsure about making any / all of them more prominent, since these features don't necessarily work for everyone under all circumstances.

:?: Perhaps you would have watched the video tutorial if there was a video tutorial on this topic in the Getting Started list of videos? Perhaps an entry in the FAQ in the first 2-3 pages would have nudged you in the right direction?
