Universal binary for macOS 28

Post by jchh »

MacOS 26.4.1 is now warning users about the end of support for Intel based apps (via Rosetta) in macOS 28.

I assume this is ~Sep '27 so plenty of notice, but asking if the devs intend to convert to a 'Universal' or 'Apple Silicon binary?

Thanks!

FileBot has x64 / Intel and arm64 / Apple Silicon binaries, so you can download the one for your platform:

 FileBot notably does not have - and at this point never will have - universal binaries that contain both x64 and arm64 code in a single package.

 If you're talking about the Mac App Store edition, then we will switch to arm64-only as soon as Apple allows developers to drop x64 support.
 Please read the FAQ and How to Request Help.

Perfect - no need for a universal binary if you already have them separatly (‘Apple Silicon’ and ‘Intel’).

I only just moved from Intel to Apple Silicon and the transfer copied my Intel version along version with it so didn’t realise there was already an ‘Apple Silicon’ version available.
