Filebot/Utorrent started renaming tv shows as movies, HELP!

Hey guys,

Had Filebot and Utorrent running flawlessly but now all of a sudden tv shows/episodes are getting renamed as movies.

For example, every Revenge tv show/episode that is downloaded is renamed as the Revenge movie, and every Sons of Anarchy tv show/episode that is downloaded is renamed as the Sons movie.

Can anyone advise why this is now happening and how to fix it?

The Utorrent run command is as follows. It hasn't changed though so unsure why this is now happening. It's very annoying as if you download more than 1 of these episodes at a time without manually renaming it after it does it incorrectly it'll just overwrite over and over again as all it wants to do is just rename it to the movie. So downloading a whole season and you end up with one video file named as a movie. Grr. Help pls

Where's the relevant logs? Isn't 3.8 the latest release?

Have you tried deleting cache/appdata? Don't use --log-lock false if you're running things automated.

Yes but it was working fine so surely no need to update?

Where do I find the logs?

Instead of running --log-lock false what do I run? Or do I just delete that section altogether?

Also where do I delete the cache/appdata for Filebot?

No idea. But don't you think it's at least worth a try? Surely you don't expect me to debug an outdated version?

Yea I suppose it is worth a try - why is there no built-in update feature though? Bit of a pain having to uninstall, download latest version and then reinstall.

Have added the log-lock true bit.

Where am I supposed to use the filebot -clear-cache bit? In the Utorrent run program text so it runs every time?

Haha, I guess I know why it's not working now, "Movies & TV Shows" is bad name for root folders either name my force a specific mode. Possibly.

Third party software to run the updates even more annoying.

Running the cache clear command now, opened up the Filebot window and seems to be hanging saying "Clear cache and temporary files".. will see if it ever does anything.

The folder has always been named Movies & TV Shows though..... so is there any way we can tell if this IS the cause or it's something else?

EDIT: Nope didn't do anything, deleted the contents of following folder manually: C:\Users\BRONX\AppData\Roaming\FileBot\cache\0

Still is there a way to see if Movies & TV Shows is throwing it off randomly all of a sudden? Should I rename it to something more suitable like Lemons and Bricks and see what happens? Any other way to test?

Manual update is then

Rename "Movies & TV Shows" to lets say "Media" so you can tell if this IS the cause. You can run AMC from cmdline and test things to your hearts desire, you'd just need to have a look at the "Troubleshooting" section.

EDIT:
The scripts are auto-updated online if you call them with fn:name synatx. I did add some new rules some time ago checking folder structure for keywords.

I did some testing by dragging-dropping into Filebot and it renamed them fine. Haven't tried via CMD though.

Haha is there any way I can get the old version of the script and store and call it locally? Renaming the folder is going to throw off all the devices which connect to it to play media.

Yes. Just download it and run -script /local/file.groovy

Where do I find that old version of the script though? And is the file called 'file.groovy'? And the 'local' is the path to it?

Also assuming it just replaces '-script fn:amc' from the text in my original post and everything else stays?

Shouldn't the file be renamed going off what it was already called and not from the root folder it is stored in?? i.e. if there is SXXeXX or XxXX in there it should know it's a tv show not a movie?

PS The cache clear didn't work still renames Revenge episodes as the 1990 movie.

The GUI doesn't have to separate Series/Movies. So this logic is all in the amc.

Until a few weeks ago scripts where all in the SVN so you can check out an older revision. You need to know SVN to do that. Now I've moved scripts to GitHub: https://github.com/filebot/scripts

Why would the cmdline call change? It's still the same script, doesn't matter if it's read from file or web.

Yes, it should be perfect. Sometimes it's less perfect than intended, we call that bugs.


PS: "renames Revenge episodes as the 1990 movie" is because you have a Movie*** folder. Rename the folder.

PS2: If you really don't wanna rename the folder update to r1914 (read FAQ) and use -script fn:amc (the latest GitHub revision already fixes this issue)

Placed in Program Files/Filebot (renamed it to FileBot.jar and renamed old one to FileBot.bak)

Try with -script head:amc until i merge it into the master.

Can I leave -script head:amc in there now even after you merge it into the master or once you've merged it do I need to change it back to -script fn:amc?

You can leave it at head. I develop on the head branch and merge back to master every once in a while, but never develop on master. So master should be more stable, but my not contain the latest fixes.
