Japanese (Transcription) episodes titles

Post by kojiro »

Would it be possible to add in the Japanese (Transcription) language in the next release.
This is especially the AniDB site.
Thank you in advance.

I prefer Japanese (transcription) and there my management software movies and TV Shows (Extreme Movie Manager) does not recognize the Japanese.

Sorry. That's not supported then for now.

What you could try is using the ascii() function, e.g.

{t.ascii()}

This will have filebot transliterate the Kanji. You could try, but with all the readings automatic transliteration probably not work well

Otherwise, you have another software management advise me (that supports Japanese) or a script AniDB for extreme Movie Manager?

I did try this myself and at least from cmdline you can make it work by pass in --lang x-jat.

Code: Select all

filebot -rename . --db anidb -non-strict --lang x-jat --action test

Code: Select all

Rename episodes using [AniDB]
Auto-detected query: [Neon Genesis Evangelion]
Fetching episode data for [Shinseiki Evangelion]
Fetching episode data for [Shinseiki Evangelion Gekijouban: Shi to Shinsei]
Fetching episode data for [Shinseiki Evangelion Gekijouban: The End of Evangelion]
[TEST] Rename [D:\workspace\testdata\AMC-TEST\Neon Genesis Evangelion - 01.mkv] to [Shinseiki Evangelion - 01 - Shito, Shuurai.mkv]
Processed 1 files

It's works.
But It is necessary to put only 2 figures for the episodes inferior to 100 otherwise it is wrong of episode.

I am going to use these command there:

By episode:

Code: Select all

filebot -rename "X:/path/to/episodes" --db anidb -non-strict --lang x-jat --format [{n}][{e}][{t}][{source}]
By folder:

Code: Select all

filebot -script fn:renall -rename X:/path/to/ --output X:/path/to/ --db anidb -non-strict --lang x-jat --format [{n}][{e}][{t}][{source}]
Thanks for your help.

Anidb apparently blocked my IP.
It does this for all anime.

Code: Select all

Rename episodes using [AniDB]
Auto-detected query: [Kill la Kill]
Fetching episode data for [Kill La Kill]
RuntimeException: Failed to parse episode data from xml: Kill La Kill (9875)

Hi kojiro,

AniDB has an antileech script that banhammers after too many lookups (or too many invalid lookups) within a 24 hour period.

The ban normally only lasts for 5-24 hours (depending on how many times its happened), but can reset/get longer if you keep trying while banned.

If you run into this, best to leave it for a day, and then for the first few anime searches (to make sure its behaving), using the GUI and hold shift when clicking AniDB to manually specify the name (basically to ensure it will match). This makes sure you give it at least one "almost guaranteed to work" search to confirm that you're not ban-hammered any more.

My Plex server had a habit of getting me banned when trying to reindex everything. Basically just had to learn to do it bit by bit, and wait it out when I got banned.

I'd also recommend creating an account on AniDB and logging into it from your IP Address (seems to give more leeway). You can also use the java app on the AniDB website to check if you're still banned - if you are, the heading of the app will have a massive red banner informing you of your status.

If the ban doesn't go away, you can PM a mod on AniDB, and they'll normally get back to you within about 24 hours. They were quite helpful at unbanning me a few times ^.^

I can always go to the website, it's just the cmdline that no longer works.

Hi kojiro,

Their ban stops lookups, not page loads. :-)

To see if your IP Address is banned, visit anidb.net, log in via the box at the bottom of the left side menu, then click on the "Client" link about two thirds the way down on the left.

It will take you here: http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=applet

If your IP Address is banned, there will be a red banner across the top of the applet telling you as much. If there is no alert, you're not banned, and the issue is something else.

Regards,

Apparently, I'm not banned.
But the problem comes from the website when I use a proxy the cmdline works.

Hi, and sorry to revive such an old thread. I tried the workaround for transcripted Japanese language above, but the command line request

Code: Select all

filebot -rename "S01E01 - The Roller Coaster Murder Case.avi" -non-strict --lang x-jat --action test --db anidb --q "Meitantei Conan"
Only gets the error message

Code: Select all

Illegal language code: x-jat
Is there any way to name episodes based on transcripted Japanese?

Unfortunately, this "accidental feature" is no longer supported now that FileBot checks input options for "valid" values. You can have English or Japanese but not Romanji.

Ah, bummer to hear that, but oh well :)
For the future, if anyone lands here via google again, the above mentioned AniAdd app does what you want! :)

r4714 adds support for Romanized Japanese.

e.g.

Code: Select all

filebot -rename Neon.Genesis.Evangelion.E01.mp4 --db AniDB --lang "Romanized Japanese" -non-strict
Rename episodes using [AniDB]

Code: Select all

Auto-detected query: [Neon Genesis Evangelion]
Fetching episode data for [Shinseiki Evangelion]
[MOVE] Rename [Neon.Genesis.Evangelion.E01.mp4] to [Shinseiki Evangelion - 01 - Shito, Shuurai.mp4]
