Default rename format for TV

Post by mbnoimi »

Hello,

I'm using XBMC with FileBot on daily basis I suggest to change the default rename format of TV episodes to the follwoing:

Code: Select all

{n} - {s00e00} - {t}
Becasue XBMC doens't recognize the currect default rename format (FileBot 3.8)

P.S. Dont' forget that XBMC is on top of most poular multimedia centers.

Hi mbnoimi,

The idea behind FileBot is that it's extreme flexibility with naming schemes means you can set it up however you like, customising the scheme however you see fit. The default is only intended as a starting point that helps people build their own scheme, rather than the end result. :-)

You can see examples of other naming schemes here.

Thanks, I'm just suggesting to replace the current default with my suggestion. I know that FileBot is very flexible because I use it but I'll be glad to see the default format is compatible with XBMC.

P.S. Some newbie users may thought that FileBot doesn't work with XBMC because they don't expect that they've to modify the default rename format (It's actually happen with one of my friends)

FileBot default format is:

Code: Select all

{n} - {sxe} - {t}
Both S00E00 and 1x01 formats are equally well established and sure to be recognized by any HTPC and I am 100% sure that XBMC and Plex and all the others do recognize 1x01 naming perfectly fine. If it doesn't I would consider that a heavy bug on the HTPC side.
