Movie name not found

Hey guys new here but not new to Filebot. I own several subscriptions and have them at my house, my moms house, my office and my cousins house lol
My issue is Filebot naming a movie it cant find, leaving me to dig through the folders to find it and do it by hand.. is there a way to make it name it even if it cant find it? just name it the way I set it to name (for plex) ?
Thanks

What is the
file path of the file you're having trouble with? Please read
How to Request Help for details.

You can always use
manual matching if
automatic matching does not work for one reason or another. Please read
FAQ #2: How do I fix misidentified files? for details.

Manual matching will allow it to just name it how plex can read it? even if filebot itself cant locate the movie?
I'm really just looking for it to name it like The Avengers (2012) so that it can be read.. even if filebot cant find that particular movie

What is the file path of the file you're having trouble with? This is really important and will add much needed context. Please do share the
file path or at least a
screenshot. If you cannot do so for some reason, please say so, so that we don't talk past each other.

Are you perhaps trying to suggest that the
"movie" at hand does not exist on TheMovieDB in the first place? If so, that changes things. However, if the movie does exist on TheMovieDB, then please do paste the link.

Alright. Please copy & paste the file path if you have an issue with some file in the future. Then we can discuss what best to do about it based on the specifics at hand.

So I add all the movies (not in folders but just the movie) right click smart mode automatic. so there is a movie that it gives its best matches for, and none of em are it.. so I have to hit skip.. so at the end there are a few movies in there that I skipped and a few that it never even asked about and can't find so they never renamed

OK, so here's the file name as text so that we can run tests:
Code: Select all
Sebastian.Maniscalco.Sebastian.Live.-.2007.1080p.WEBRip.x264.AAC-[YTS.MX]
Sebastian Live (2009) is the correct match so simply hitting
ENTER to select the first pre-selected option is the way to go here. FileBot will then generate the correct file path:
Code: Select all
Movies/Sebastian Live (2009) {tmdb-106005}/Sebastian Live (2009)
** Note that Plex uses TheMovieDB so you must use TheMovieDB naming and numbering which can be different from IMDB naming and numbering

Snapshots is a special name that's on the
exclude list so auto-detection
"knows" (in this case incorrectly) as to avoid false positives when users rename movies in a folder named
Snapshots:
Code: Select all
Snapshots.2018.1080p.WEBRip.x264-[YTS.LT]

We will consider removing
Snapshots from the exclude list to make this specific file name work better in the future.

But lets say a file doesn't work for other reasons and cannot be fixed. In this case you can simply select
Skip and process all the other files first. You can then do
SHIFT-CLICK <TheMovieDB> to force manual input the second time around. Alternatively, you can just always select the first match first and ignore the selection dialog altogether
(courtesy of toggling on
Automatic Selection) and then use
Edit Match later to fix the wrong matches as you go through the list. Please read
FAQ #2: How do I fix misidentified files? for details on both of these approaches.

If you find more issues, please keep them coming. Please do post
file paths as text though since I need to copy & paste the text to create test files which is rather cumbersome from photo-of-a-screen images.

Sorry im a little confused. as of now when it cant find the correct movie I hit skip and manually code it at the end. I'm just looking for filebot to name it correctly even when it cant find it.. for example if it couldn't find it at all can it still just name it Sebastian Live (2009) so I can put it on plex? in other words just rename it without meta data / finding it?

Can you provide an example for a movie that actually cannot be found?

The examples given by you are
Sebastian Live (2009) and
Snapshots (2018) which exist in the database and thus
can be found and matched.

If you're loading files into Plex then you'll want to include the
{tmdb-106005} ID marker which is only possible if the movie can be found. AFAIK, Plex fundamentally cannot manage movies that cannot be found because Plex too will then not be able to find the movie. But you can create a
"I just made up my own movie name (2025).mkv" file, throw it into your Plex movie library, just to see what happens.
EDIT:
[Plain File Mode] Offline Cleanup might be what you're looking for if you mean to clean file names without matching.
