Best Way to use FileBot with Radarr/Sonarr and manual download??

Post by FTW »

Hi guys,

Any idea of the best way to use Filebot and Radarr/Sonarr with Torrent download and Manual Download from the Scene?

My issues is:
I have a auto-download from the Scene that download from a FTP Server automatically that send to /Temps folders

I am using FileBot to watch /Temps and send to /Plex/

Radarr/Sonarr watch Torrent and download with qBittorent to -> /Torrents and than move/hardlink to /Plex

but the issue is I don't know how to use Radarr/Sonarr to watch what Filebot move to /Plex and add it to them...

since often the name schema from Sonarr/Radarr and Filebot are not 100% the same for Movies/Shows Folder so it create duplicate Folders and Duplicate video files....

I tried with Relocate and Refresh post-process scripts and its work but not at 100%... there still some issues for TV Shows....

Any Ideas how to deal with that to avoid duplicate download from both side Torrent site and Scene FTP server?

Thanks for your help

I guess you could use filebot to hardlink / organize files in a way that *arr can pick up, to then organize / hardlink into your Plex structure as well, or do it the other way around have filebot takes files from various locations including the *arr folders and hardlink / organize files into your final Plex structure that away.

Either way, it makes sense to have only one tool be in charge of the final Plex structure if you need to ensure that everything is organised the exact same way at all times.

yeah of course is better to have only one tool to be in charge but my issues is not the Structure itself but the download side.... since *arr don't see what I manual download.... I don't know if there a way to tell them that -> Hey I got this already, so no need to download it, just move it into your library

AFAIK, The *arrs allow you to configure an input folder that is being monitored for new files, so you can have your filebot instance move files there, then *arrs will pick up the files, presumably then record that you now have these files already, and hardlink them into your Plex structure.

any idea where I can use that input folder just to monitored new files and import it?

I tried several thing in *arr and all seem not working as a simple monitored new files to import to another folder... it seem only looking for NEW movies or shows that isnt already monitored or already imported from another source and just ignore it. Or I am wrong and did something wrong

Sorry, no idea, you'd need to ask that in the *arr forums. Maybe you'd have to expand your *arr post-processing script to add a given TMDB ID / TVDB ID to the list of shows being tracked by *arr in case you manually add a new series that isn't on the list of tracked shows yet? Or remove something that's already accounted for so that you can import it again? IDK. Best to ask the *arr developers.
