My seedbox doesn't support the use of java so Filebot can't be installed onto it.
I'm currently using Filebot to auto name/move for Plex on my network. I'm wondering if it's at all possible to do the same thing but for Filebot to scan/rename/move files on my seedbox (Called Whatbox) to the appropriate folders on, and accessed by, my Seedbox installation of Plex.
Automatically would be nice, or even a manual option would be better then renaming every single file properly on a FTP program or Browser.
If someone could point me in the right direction...
All help is appreciated!
Thanks!!
Is it possible to have Filebot remotely access my Seedbox?
Re: Is it possible to have Filebot remotely access my Seedbox?
Yes, you can just mount the remote filesystem into the local filesystem. Easy on Linux and Mac. Probably more tricky on Windows.
Mountain Duck might be a possible solution for that:

Wow that's amazing... so many things just became so simple!
Thank-you so much!!

People have been doing virtual filesystems since forever on Unix. Not sure if Windows plays nice with 3rd party filesystem drivers.
Please report back if Mountain Duck works well for you.

Re: Is it possible to have Filebot remotely access my Seedbox?
Well I first tried my seedbox's choice they had in their wiki but it was extremely
slow and Filebot would just freeze up.
Just tried Mountain Duck Trial and looks very promising, I was able to rename 5
items but having some issues.
When I click and drag over to Filebot it gives me the error
"Download <filename> S02E08.mkv failed."
Disconnected. The connection attempt was rejected. The server may be down,
or your network may not be properly configured.
I think it has something to do with drag and dropping into Filebot because before I drop and depress, my pointer says move.
Does it think Filebot is trying to download it?
Ok so after a few attempts, sometimes it looks and works perfectly as if on the computer, other times it gives me the failed download error
I feel with some tweaking this will work beautifully!!
Gonna keep at it!

Re: Is it possible to have Filebot remotely access my Seedbox?
You're accessing a remote filesystem. Whenever FileBot tries to read bits and pieces of files, the virtual filesystem driver will talk to the server, download the relevant bits and pieces, and pass them back to FileBot. FileBot itself doesn't know it's reading files remotely.
There's many optimizations you can make with caching and connections and so on and some configurations may work better than other depending on how the server is set up.

Crap, this is entering a realm where I wouldn't know how to proceed. I'll keep trying thou.

Yeah, best to check the Mountain Duck forums and see if you can get advice from people that have been using it for a long time playing without various settings.
