BUG - rename with special character

Post by sdugoten »

I am trying to remove Re:Monster the Anime, and I got the following error

Screenshot

It seems when the name that will be renamed to having symbols or special character, it will prompt you this error. I have seen issue with colon ":", and some other symbol like "|"

Could you please fix this? I am using this format

{localize.ja.n} - {s00e00} - {localize.ja.t}

Moreover, there is no version number inside the app anywhere, not even in setting. I have no way to find out what version I am using. I end up uninstall it and download the latest version 5.1.4 and test again and still experience the same bug.

:idea: Windows File Path Validation is not an error. If you click the red Continue button then you will get an error from Windows because Windows does not allow : colon characters in file names / folder names.

:arrow: Please click the green Validate button to force valid file names. In this case, FileBot will strip all the : colon characters from the file path as highlighted in the preview.

:arrow: Alternatively, you can use {plex.name} as format. That'll strip : colon characters at format time and thus ensure valid file paths before you even click the Rename button. Please read the How do I organize files for Plex? guide if you're organizing files for Plex / Jellyfin / etc.

Format: Select all

{ plex.name }
