Naming files not in database: MAC

Post by davidominguez »

Hello,
I'm trying to rename all episodes of Days Of Our Lives from 1984 to 2010 so that they are recognized and named correctly in Plex. I installed FileBot on my Mac, but I haven't had any success with the renaming process. The problem is that some years are missing from the available databases (like TheMovieDB, etc.).

Is there a bulk method to accomplish this? I keep getting an error stating that the episodes are not available to fetch. Since I'm not familiar with scripts or complicated methods, a straightforward solution would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

:?: What are the file names you have? Please share file paths as text so that we can see what you can see.

 Generally speaking, you can always align files / episodes manually, and different approaches may be more or less smart depending on the files at hand. If your files are generally in order (although named badly) then Linear Rename will make quick work of the task at hand.

:!: Although Plain File Mode allows you to rewrite your file paths without matching the files against the online database, we must always keep in mind that Plex fundamentally cannot identify and display episodes that do not exist in the database in the first place, irregardless of how files may be named.

:?: What exactly does the error message say? You can click on the error message to copy & paste the error message to the clipboard.
