Renaming not creating folder structure

Post by muddball »

I'm trying to rename some files and have the renamed files moved to a specific path, in the form Drive/Kids/Shows/Show name (year)/Season ##/Show name S##E##.mkv. Here is the expression I'm using:

Format: Select all

{ drive }/Kids/Shows/{ny}/{sn}/{n} {s00e00}
. It's doing everything except creating the "Season ##" directory. The preview in the preset editor shows the correct full path, but the result is always just Drive/Kids/Shows/Show name (year)/Show name S##E##.mkv. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

:idea: {sn} refers to the season name which may be undefined depending on the series at hand. You'll want to use Double-Click <New Names> item ➔ Edit Format after files have been matched to prototype your format on the actual series / episode information at hand. If you click on Edit Format before loading in any files / episodes, then the Format Editor will be working with sample information.

:arrow: You'll want to use the season number {s} in your format like so:

Format: Select all

{ drive }/Kids/Shows/{ ny }/Season { s }/{ n } - { s00e00 } - { t }

:arrow: That said, I would recommend just using the {plex} format which takes care of everything:

Format: Select all

{ drive }/Kids/Shows/{ ~plex.year }
:idea: Please read the FAQ and How to Request Help.
